May The Best Woman Win!

So night was the premiere of RuPaul's Drag Race! ( "May the best woman, Best woman win!") The theme song is addictive! LOL. Anyone that knows me knows that Reality Tv is one of my Guilty Pleasures. Im sooo into Top model, Project runway, Top Chef... etc. I must say that this show by far tops them all. Give me a show full of gay men, some sequins, RuPaul and a hint of saloon and honey im there! LOL.

On the first episode the ladies all met thier competition Miss Shannel was the first to enter, shes a cute Las Vegas girl that has " 25,000 dollars worth of clothes and shoes with her" She's a professional make up artist and Headliner In Vegas.... Shes cute... But Im not loving her... I wasnt impressed with all of the girl. Victoria aka Porchop was cute... in a Backwoods, balding cousin that dresses in drag that you dont talk about at the family reunion kinda way. Kind of a Southern Fried Mess, lol.
I hate ONGINA... UGH!

My Favorite is Miss Nina FLOWERS !!! This Puerto Rican Papi is FIERCE! Nina Flowers is amazing. She in one word is an Extravaganza! Her makeup, fashion and personality all POP! I watched a few vids of her on youtube and I fell in love! ( Did i mentioned she was tat-tat-tatted up?) I hope she wins!

Other Queens to watch include Jade (who i,like Akashia, may have to be a lesbian for) Miss Bebe Zahara and Miss "Muscle Booty" aka Akashia (sidenote: miss thing is ghetto)

At the First Photo Shoot the girls had to pose on a classic car with two fine ass chocolate men in swim trunks. I got a little hot just watching it. The super-duper Hawt and talented Mike Ruiz. Think Lowrider mag but with Tranny Fabness. The photoshoot itself was a good idea, Drag Queens + Classic car= Drag Race. Lol, the funny part was when they started pouring buckets of water on these girls. I know they had to be mad after spending hours caking on that makeup only to have it rinsed away!

The next competition was "Drag on a Dime' which made our girls get Creative!!! They had to construct an outfit from thrift store goodies and dollar store Crap. Tres Chic!

At Panel My Girl RU, came out in full glamness. A black peekaboo dress that fit like a glove and showed all her assests off! Makeup done and hair Laid! Miss thing walked like the runway like the rent was due and the children were hungry!

On to the contestants:

My Girl Nina flowers rocked it!!! She gave a 80's Rocker glam look with flowered shoulderpads to boot! The Hair was fierce and the makeup was Fiercer! IMO Nina has already won this competition. Miss Ongina (ugh) deconstructed loofahs and made a dress and walked down the runway like she was A gay Donald Duck having a seisure.

In true ghetto girl fashion Akashia repped the every ghetto in America with a class-less black halterish.... I cant even describe it it was a mess. She made the bottom two along with Miss Victoria who made a boo-boo green dress with what looked like a shower curtain attatched. (Again, Southern Fried Mess)

After Deliberation Ru decided that our girl NINA, was the winner this week and that Akashia and Cousin IT would have to Lip Sync For thier lives! And the most fitting first song to Lip Sync to was the Dance Smash Supermodel ("You Better WORK") By RuPaul. Akashia twirled and sashayed poor Porkchop (who seemed to be falling and wobbling like an Ikea table) right back home to her small town.

I cant wait until next monday!!! I think Michelle Williams will be guest judging!!! Set ur tivo!!!

You can catch RuPaul's Drag Race on Monday Nights at 10/9pm Central On LOGO!
If you dont have LOGO you can watch full episodes at www.logoonline.com

So until next time, "Hold on to your tucking panties, its gonna be a bumpy ride!"

Good Morning

Hey Everyone!!! First Off , I know that I am posting this at 2:42 in the afternoon, ( Mama was a little busy at the work job this morning!) but GOOD Morning, Afternoon, Evening to you. I woke up this morning like most mornings, late and rushing to get to work on time ( My boss does not play that late business). I found myself in a huff because as hard as i try I cannot seem to get up on time to face the world. Something always is preventing me from having a comfortable lead on getting to work on time; whether it be me not being able to find my metrocard, a shoe or my damn keys.

When I finally left the Brownstone and starteddown the street I turned on John Legend's "Good Morning Intro" from the Evolver CD and it seemed like I instantly started smiling from ear to ear. My Huff had turned into a laugh. I felt like a white woman. People were looking at me like I belonged in a mental instutution

Now I used to not be a big John Legend fan but this Cd is most definitley something to buy, or if you're like me Download... lol. But anyway, I say this to say for all my morning people even when youre late, rushing, cant find your left shoe or whatever during your morning commute take a second to find peace even if it is only for only a moment. Whether it be telling yourself " Today is gonna be a good day" or listening to a song or whatever works for you. Do something. It helps! John Legend's "Good Morning Intro" was only 46 seconds but it turned my whole day around!

So wherever you are and whatever time of day it is! Good morning and Good Day!

Diamonds

Today was a very interesting day in New York City, I found myself feeling a bit down and lonely in this wintry weather. I am not a big fan of snow and ice. (Us Houstonians don’t really aren’t used to all this foolishness.) I think my best friend/roommate George noticed my mood and invited me out to lunch.

During a long conversation about love life and relationships with a friend I asked him, “What flaws are you willing to accept in your mate?”, my oh so philosophical friend replied “I like to think of humans and their flaws like a jewelry maker thinks of a diamond.” he continued as he saw my puzzled expression, “Diamonds don’t have flaws, they have unique characteristics and those characteristics sometimes make them all the more valuable.

One banana split, a shared plate of fries and I several cups of coffee later I found myself still thinking of this question. During an unusually long train ride, I began to think.

How many diamonds do we throw away just because there are a few imperfections?

If it really is a diamond then why do we focus on a few scratches instead of valuing something that we can cherish forever?

In this economic crunch can we really afford to be throwing away diamonds?...

January 17th- An original poem

January 17

I wished on a dream, thinking I would find my king the way they do in Disney Movies.
But after so many days of waking up disappointed I thought that maybe my wish got lost in the mass of wishes thrown toward the evening sky every night.
Countless nights pass, still no answer or response from the clouds or the stars.
Still I’m hopeful every night as my head hits the pillow.
Praying that my Fairy Godmother hears me and takes pity.

January 17th my dreams came true.
On that cold night the stars began to shine like diamonds.
The air was sweet with jasmine and lavender and as I drifted I knew that night he would come.
As I float towards my dreams, I feel him pulling me closer to his chest
The strong arms of my lover wrapped around my waist feel like God’s own hands pulling me into Heaven.
His breath on the back of my neck sends shockwaves down my body as he whispers sweetly into my ear.
And as I close my eyes and sail away into the land of dreams he pulls me closer. I can feel the warmth of his lips as he kisses me goodnight.
I have never slept so sound in all my life.

His face still remains a mystery to my eyes but his spirit is as familiar to me as my own reflection.
..

I woke up the next morning with a melody in my heart.
New blood pumps through my veins at a different beat.
I feel music moving through my body.
I feel so much different than I did the day before.
My fairy godmother was listening.
All that comes to mind is him.
My toothpaste tastes like his kisses.
My morning coffee reminds me of how warm his touch is
I can hear his voice while I’m riding on the train.
Over the voices of people in the coffee shop.
Over the sound of passing cars.
Over the hustle and bustle of city life.
He calls to me. His voice is piercing.
It is unavoidable.
He is my destiny.

Now Thats a Bad B*tch

Once again, my girl BEYONCE killed it with her new track " Single Ladies"!
I'm loving this track, it's very down south, A whole lot of TEXAS/LOUISIANA flavor. I can see myself banging this when im getting ready to hit it to the club, gym, or on the sauway. Heavy Rotation on the MP3 player. From the beat to the lyrics, im sold.

This next track "If I Were a Boy" is more of a reflective mid tempo song, not feeling it right now, but like most Beyonce singles itll grow on me.

Check it out and leave a comment!
